Anyone who wants to make a change, no matter how big or small, in order to
live a more satisfying life.

It's a brief, goal-orientated form of therapy in which the therapist works
with the client as a team to help bring about lasting, positive change. If
you have been thinking/reacting in a certain unhelpful way for a number of
years, this is a learnt behaviour. Insight into your problem and the thought
patterns perpetuating it isn't enough - once you're aware of a different,
more helpful way of thinking/reacting, that new way has to be learned with
patience and perseverance. You will achieve your goals faster if you
practise the new learning in between sessions in different ways - ranging
from constructive, rational self-talk to actively facing your trigger
situations until you grow into the new you!

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of relaxation. Contrary to popular
belief you remain conscious while you are in hypnosis, and many people
describe the experience as pleasant and peaceful. You are always in control
but become more receptive to beneficial suggestions which can help steer you
towards your chosen solution. Hypnosis will only create the effect that you
allow it to have.

Not necessarily - that depends on what way of working best suits you and your
specific goals. Hypnosis may be used for you to find out more about the roots
of your problem, to find inner resources and healing imagery that is unique
to you, to help you relax, to strengthen and deepen insights you have reached
in the session, or to rehearse new ways of being. You may be taught
self-hypnosis so you can make use of this powerful technique in your everyday
life.

You can attend just two or three weekly sessions for new insights, a
kickstart to a new regime or a confidence boost - or attend regularly to tackle
your emotional goals one by one. Many clients feel they have learned enough
to
continue their self-development
without the therapist after six, ten or twelve sessions,
others prefer to take change at a slower pace.
