| Self Hypnosis | Relaxation |
| Self Hypnosis can be taught quickly and easily and be used by a patient to aid relaxation. It can be used as an assistant during the treatment of many conditions. Providing self help to supplement therapy and for simple positive achievement. | The inability to relax is a
key factor in many dysfunction's. The ability to relax is important to
good health.
Various relaxation techniques form a part of most therapeutic strategies |
| Phobia | Anxiety |
| Phobia may be described as a special fear that is beyond voluntary control, an unreasonable fear brought on by an object or situation that can lead to an avoidance of that object or situation. I use several desensitisation strategies when dealing with phobia, including EMDR. | Anxiety can present itself in many forms. It can even be a normal, healthy, protective response against a threat to safety or security. It can even be described as a human response to hidden tension or a transitory response to a stimulus. This is usually treated as a lesser form of panic attack or phobia. |
| Panic Attacks | Shyness, Lack of Confidence |
| Panic disorder is not uncommon and is characterised by recurrent, sometimes unpredictable attacks. A panic attack may consist of intense apprehension, fear and discomfort of sudden onset. | Many people go through life failing to achieve, simply because they are afraid to ask for what they want, or to express their feelings. Assertiveness training used in conjunction with other strategies is extremely effective. |
| Stopping Smoking | Lack of Self Esteem |
| Hypnosis may well be the most successful therapy for helping with smoking cessation. My aim is to obtain total cessation on the second session. | A lack of self esteem is often the result of conditioning as a child. Remarkable improvements can often be achieved after just two or three sessions. |
| Stress | Hypnotherapy |
| Stress is a condition of modern society. Failure to cope with stress can create the conditions for negative emotions and behaviours to flourish and endure. | Hypnotherapy can help with trauma, IBS, eating disorders, addictions, sleeping problems, coping with loss, pain control, performance enhancement and more... |
