| Rick’s remarkable communicative
skills saw him working as a professional storyteller and radio
broadcaster before he trained extensively with the London College of
Clinical Hypnosis. He went on to gain a
wealth of experience, working with patients in London and the South
East, at his three successful UK practices. Many hypnotherapy students benefited from his knowledge and expertise as Rick skilfully tutored them through their own studies. He has also spent time on the Continent providing a much needed service to the ex pat community whilst developing the exciting therapeutic concepts of Restful Change and Age-Break Therapy. He is a full member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, is listed at the NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners and is one of the few hypnotherapists recognised to work with children and young people. |

Clinical Hypnosis: Do you recall sitting in the classroom, drifting off, as you gaze out of the window only to be brought abruptly back to reality by an irate teacher? How many of us have been seemingly mesmerised by the flickering flames and the warm glow of a log fire? You have already experienced being in trance. It is a perfectly natural state of mind. You are aware of voices, people and happenings around you, yet they seem distanced, perhaps even unimportant, as you find yourself totally focused and concentrated on your own, very special, inner self. Hypnotherapy simply utilises these basic human traits permitting us to focus on direct, or indirect, suggestion to the immense benefit of the individual patient or corporate client. Rick is an understanding and caring listener, with his help, you can look forward with confidence to breaking free from your stress filled environment or making positive change to your life. To list all of the conditions for which Hypnotherapy has been shown to be effective would be impractical, but just some of its applications include: Examination Nerves; Driving Test Anxiety; Personal Anxiety; Improving Self Image & Confidence; Emotional Problems; Stop Smoking; Realising Potential; Blushing Relationship Issues Inhibitions; Guilt Feelings; Jealousy; Assertiveness; Weight Control & Body Image; Bulimia; Exercise Motivation; Bed wetting Phobias, Fears and Addictions; IBS; Sexual Dysfunction; Disruptive Sleep Patterns; Snoring Compulsive Behaviour; Undesirable Habits; Bruxism; Skin Disorders; Depression; Sports Motivation; General Relaxation; Pain Control; Performance Anxiety (includes presentations and public speaking) Stop Smoking is conducted over one extended session of therapy. The vast majority of people are susceptible to hypnosis and patients who work with Rick experience no harmful side effects. You are always in control and will remember everything that is important for you so to do. Nobody can be hypnotised against their will. The number of sessions deemed necessary is dependant upon the condition to be treated and the receptiveness of the patient, but, generally speaking, between one and three visits are usually sufficient, rarely more. To ensure the best level of care, you will be asked to confirm with your GP/medical practitioner that hypnotherapy will not be in conflict to any treatment you might be already receiving. |
